Christmas Festivities!!!

The weekend started off with Jordan's first Christmas Choir concert in high school. Okay, usually concerts are a little boring, but let me just say....wow! Boyd has a great choir. Each choir that sang, did a great job. It was very entertaining and the music was great. Jordan is lucky to be a part of such a great program. She has a lot of great friends in choir with her. It seems that it has become a tradition for the past 3 years to get a picture of Jordan and Hailey. So we couldn't let this year be any different. Hailey is one of Jordan's best buds....Great job girls!

UGLY SWEATER PARTY!!
I had never heard of an "UGLY SWEATER PARTY" until a little over a month ago. Rick and I were invited by some friends. I figured I would just pick out an ugly sweater for the both of us and we would be good. Later I found out - we would actually have to step it up a bit. People started back in November thinking about and purchasing things for their sweaters. I was very nervous!!!! I would actually have to sew something on a sweater. I traveled to the goodwill and bought a few things. Luckily, I found the perfect sweater "vest" for me. No probably not the ugliest thing, but it would do. For Rick I found a few things I could put on the sweater. This is what we came up with!!!! Yes, I know - mine isn't very exciting, but Rick's was great! What a good sport to wear a sweater with a stuffed animal sewn on the front. Big Jingle Bells everywhere and as an added bonus......BOWS! Here is another look!!
Everyone had great sweaters...now I know what to expect for next year. I loved these sweaters....completely homemade and so cute! Amy and Corey you looked awesome! Here are the girls in all our glory! Dindra, loved the stirrup pants!!! The guys were awesome! They were absolutely not afraid or scared of what they looked like! We had an awesome time! Thanks Jen and Jeff - can't wait until next year!

The following night, we had another get together with some friends. Man, two parties in one weekend - we might be called party animals. (Actually, we are just making up for all the many weekends we stay at home :) It is definitely a plus to have built in babysitters! Highlights of the night were of course THE FOOD and playing musical pictionary. I'm not sure what was so funny, but it was something...The hit of the night was our white elephant gifts!!! I will keep what some of the actual gifts were a secret, but I actually came home with a great gift!! A SNUGGIE!!!! Paige has actually confiscated it, but I was excited to get such a great gift!

THE NATIVITY
Sunday night we headed to Waxahachie, Tx to visit "Bethlehem". A church there rebuilds the town of Bethlehem and tells the story of Christ's birth in a live Nativity. This is our second time coming and it is a great experience for the kids. The kids get to walk around "Bethlehem" and visit the market place, grind some wheat and corn, chisel limestone, watch how instruments are made, and even try some of the local food. We ran into a few chickens in the market place.Cody even got to hang out with a goat! There were even real live camels walking around the town. The night ended with warm hot chocolate, what could be better.

OTHER EVENTS....
Other happenings around the Peterson household....Rick was able to enjoy a weekend away with some friends pheasant hunting. He shot one and brought home the breast for a friend and the tail feathers for me! The feathers are actually very pretty. I told Rick - people pay good money for those feathers!
Rick and the boys were able to visit the local grocery store and get up close and personal with a couple of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. They were all excited to get their autographs and picture taken. They would have been much more excited to win the tickets to the game! No such luck!
And FINALLY - tonight we attended Jordans first "solo" performance! She is taking voice lessons and her teacher had a "recital" for all of her students. Jordan sang, "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree." She was super nervous, but did a great job! We might have heard a few of the verses over and over again, but like Rick said, "what do you mean she said the same thing. Was she not suppose to???" It helps if you don't know how the song is "really" suppose to go. Thank goodness Jordan played it off perfectly and just kept on going!! It was great Jordan!
